High school senior Kelvin Rolle knows what he wants out of life. Kelvin excels in academics and athletics and maintains a busy schedule. After graduation this spring, he will attend FAMU in Tallahassee majoring in civil engineering.
Thanks to his years-long involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Kelvin is a Youth of the Year finalist. This finalist status earned Kelvin and the six other YOY finalists free tuition at a Florida university. On February 3, the Youth of the Year dinner will be held in front of a live audience where the seven finalists will speak before a panel of judges. The Youth of the Year winner will be announced that evening.
When GL Homes met Kelvin during a GL Homes and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Holiday Gift Drive event, the dynamic young man caught the interest of the Florida homebuilder when he expressed a keen interest in civil engineering. Soon after, GL Homes contacted Boys & Girls Clubs to invite Kelvin and his mother, LaTishia Rolle, to a sit-down meeting with the company’s engineering team and a hard-hat tour of the GL Homes construction site at Valencia Grand in Boynton Beach.
