GL Homes hosted an action-packed Saturday for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County’s clients at the YMCA’s The Lab.
These Legal Aid Society clients are developmentally disabled young adults, many of whom aged out of the foster care system, and are part of the Legal Aid Society’s Guardian Advocacy Project (GAP). Nonprofit Legal Aid acts as their legal guardian and but for the nonprofit’s support and case management, they would be homeless and without support.
The Lab offered 3-D printing along with arts & crafts, painting, chess, pop-a-shot basketball and video games. Something for everyone!
Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County
The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County is committed to providing high quality civil legal advice, representation and education to the disadvantaged of Palm Beach County in order to protect their personal safety, enhance their opportunities and living conditions, and promote self-sufficiency.
Legal Aid Society helps clients deal with many of life’s most basic needs: a safe home, enough food to eat, a quality education, and protection against exploitation and discrimination.
YMCA of South Palm Beach County: THE LAB
Located at the Town Center at Boca Raton, THE LAB provides opportunities for youth to realize who they are and what they are capable of achieving, while making friends and memories along their journey. Programs foster a culture of service, provide opportunities to set goals and teach youth how to share their voice, while being supported by caring adult mentors.
